What PRP Injections are and how they work
PRP or Platelet-Rich Plasma therapies are injections of a patient's own platelets to speed up the healing process of injuries. In your blood, there are different types of cells including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Platelets are special healing cells that create clotting and help your body heal.
The PRP therapy process begins with blood draw from the patient. The blood is then rotated quickly in a centrifuge, which helps separate the out healing-rich platelets. Those platelets are then injected into the patient's injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and/or joints. In some cases, Dr. Allen will use ultrasound technology to target very specific injuries.
Since the patient's own blood cells are injected to promote the healing process, PRP leverages the body's ability to heal itself.

Why choose PRP?
Traditional approaches with pain medications and surgery may involve more risk to the patient. Surgery may fail to stabilize the joint and relieve pain, and pain relievers only help temporarily.
What conditions can PRP help with?
How do you know if PRP will help you?
To find out if PRP can help you, you'll need to be evaluated by a doctor. Every person is different and therefore requires a physical exam by a professional. If you live in the Tucson area, Dr. Jason Allen will give you a free exam to let you know what might work best for you. For a free 15-minute consult with Dr. Allen, call 520-887-4287.

About the Doctor
Dr. Jason Allen, NMD, strongly believes in the philosophy of "give the body what it needs to heal and it can heal on its own". Using a hands-on approach to assess the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, fascia and soft tissue, he looks deeply for the cause of the dysfunction. He has helped countless people avoid expensive, invasive surgeries, years of pain and debility and the ability to live a life without reliance on pain medication. Many patients have even been able to give up their cane or walker, return to an active lifestyle, sleep deeply without being woken up by pain and have better mobility than they've had for many years, even when they were told there was no hope for them.
